Combining Environmental Area Frame Surveys of a Finite Population

Abstract New ways to combine data from multiple environmental area frame surveys of a finite population are being introduced. Environmental often sample populations through frames. However, without risking bias, design components (inclusion probabilities, etc.) needed at unit level the population. We show how derive and exemplify this for three commonly used sampling designs. produce an unbiased estimator using surveys, reduce risk introducing significant bias in linear combinations estimators surveys. If separate variance combinations, there’s negative bias. By pooled estimators, combination can be reduced. National provide good national level, while too sparse sufficiently some domains. With proposed methods, one plan extra efforts such domains, discarding readily available information aggregate/national survey. Through simulation, we that methods either unbiased, or yield low with small compared traditionally methods.
